WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND REAL PEOPLE?

Why is it so hard to find real people? It seems like every one you meet these days only wants to suck information from you, and then stab you in the back. Especially with girls. Us females can be so vicious (even when it's not that time of the month) ... Why is it tha there cant just be red checks (like on the General Mills Bran items) to let us know who is the right one. Being a female, and living in a new state i find it very hard to connect with new people, it seems like only guys get along with me, and it's that way with alot of girls i talk to. So why can guys and girls be bect friends... but when it comes to girl and girl being best friend all hell breaks loose? I just want to know what all of you look for in a tue friend, and how to spot the bad ones before they ruin your life?
